lyrics

So what is the moral to the story?
In the end do see a different man than he was before he
Encountered our hero?
And what does that word even mean?

Did he need to go through that journey?
So it seems.
But what about me?
Who am I?

When I turn a blind eye,
Even knowing that I
Have the ability to affect what surrounds me
And the knowledge,
Without a degree from a college,
That this is the stage, and this is my part
To look beyond just the rags
In to a human heart.

To not shy from connection,
But embrace with affection
The insanity,
The deficiency of humanity
And the disparity
Between money given to charity
And the time,
When it’s so desperately needed,
To acknowledge a human.
To grow a flower that’s been seeded
With kindness
And a general awareness and mind-ness
To the starving.

To say something helpful and not harming.

This was never about Christmas
Or coffee or sandwiches.
Not about nickles or dimes.
But about avoiding the damages
I so easily cause.
I can't be bothered to pause
For a simple “Hello.”

Or “I see you?”

I see you

I see you
