scifizoe It's hard to put into words how phenomenal this album is, and what an achievement it is to make a coherent, catchy, and moving interactive musical. I've never seen anything like it before and I might never again. Every time I think I've decided what my favourite version of each song is, I fall in love with a new one. It is full of endless rewards. Favorite track: Challenging a Queen (feat. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn & Laura Bailey).

jeffdrohrer Four versions can't capture the full magic of Stray Gods, but it comes close. Each song in each version, though they start from the same tune, evolve into radically different songs over their course, adding rich variation. I heavily favor the Green Edition just because that was my first playthrough of the game, but I've found a lot to love in the rock aesthetic of the Red Edition and the smoother tones of the Blue Edition as well. Favorite track: The Ritual - Green Edition (feat. Merle Dandridge, Laura Bailey, Abubaker Salim & Troy Baker).

about

In 2018, Summerfall Studios' co-founder Liam Esler and I had a chance, fortuitous meeting in San Francisco, and inside of 30 seconds had pledged to make a videogame musical together. It would prove to be scary, immensely beyond the scope of our initial guesses, and also among the most rewarding undertakings of my entire life.

I have no ability to really summarize the rollercoaster that is Stray Gods. This challenged me across every dimension and I only hope the resulting work indicates I managed to at least partially rise to meet it. To work so closely with my gaggle of cowriters on the songs (Tripod's Steven Gates, Simon Hall and Scott Edgar, as well as Montaigne), the core dev team and of course this mind boggling lineup of actors ... how do I even unpack it all?? I grew more than I could ever say.

Because of the sprawling branching nature of the game and music, you'll notice there are 4 albums: Red, Green, Blue and Pantheon (separated on streaming platforms but all combined here for your convenience!). The 3 colors represent your trait choices and those albums constitute how the game would play if you dogmatically chose the same color at every juncture. In contrast, the "Pantheon" album (which also contains highlights from the score), is a path that intermingles the traits in a manner that I think accurately captures *a* sample playthru.

To be clear: THERE IS NO CANON VERSION OF THESE SONGS. The *entire* point is for you to experiment, roleplay, and enjoy (or agonize over) whatever results from your choices. No matter how many albums I release it'll never comprehensively archive every possible version of the game. So, really, I suggest you just go play it and have fun!

Thank you to everyone for checking out this colossal labor of love, especially the army of talent you see credited on this page. Each made a huge mark on this project.
